Project Detail: KLA Wafer Inspector | ||
|
Three enclosures were
designed for the this wafer inspector system. There were a short tower, tall tower,
and the skins around the wafer inspector. The towers are built around a standard 19" rack frame, with custom skins and shelving for internal electronics. The wafer inspector is a massive casting designed by KLA engineers. The enclosure skins are hung on it, and are easily removed for access. The enclosures were designed by the staff designers at Dave Ellies Industrial Design in 1980. Rick Fayram had significant responsibility in the design, including aesthetic development and much of the mechanical design. Cold rolled steel sheet metal, with pressure formed ABS plastic bezel on the tall tower. |
