CacheFlow The model 5000DE (Disc Expansion) is a storage unit for hard drives. It adds twenty extra drives to the Model 5000's native 8 capability, for a total of 28 drives. Fayram Design conceived and refined the appearance for cost effective production. All parts were detailed fully in 3D CAD solids and 2D control documents for effective communication with manufacturing vendors. The unit is powered by triple redundant hot swap power supplies. Here the 5000DE is shown with its door open, displaying the bay holding 20 hot swap hard drives. A bit of a Model 5000 can be seen to the left of the Model 5000DE. |
