| These are
high-performance dedicated caching data servers for the World Wide
Web. They utilize an active cache design to shorten the time required
retrieving Web objects, thus dramatically improving the performance of Web
clients. They also sustain the prime cached objects in anticipation of
their repeated access.
Fayram Design was responsible for the appearance and mechanical design of CacheFlow's first 6 products. Extensive development effort has been expended on thermal issues (including NEBs compliance), RFI/EMI containment, serviceability, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and tight packaging of components. The appearance Fayram Design developed for the first product (the Model 1000) became an integral part of the CacheFlow identity, and so has been applied to the subsequent product line. This has ensured a consistent and instantly recognizable corporate identity. The designs were detailed fully in 3D CAD solids and 2D control documents for effective communication with manufacturing vendors. Standard achievable tolerance of manufactured parts was of critical importance. Fayram Design also provided extensive on-going manufacturing support, working closely with CacheFlow personnel and their manufacturing vendors to ensure quality products and quick solutions to manufacturing challenges as they arose. Fayram Design not only developed the products parts in detail, but also developed the manufacturing procedural information.
